ERASMUS FOR YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS

Fábrica de Startups is one of the contact points in Portugal for Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs, a European exchange program, funded by the European Commission, which aims to help new entrepreneurs (or those who wish to become entrepreneurs) to acquire the necessary skills to successfully start and / or manage a small business in Europe.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Aspiring entrepreneurs planning to set up their own business or newly-established entrepreneurs (with less than 3 years of experience);
Experienced entrepreneurs (owner-managers) with more than 3 years of experience managing their own SME.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

New entrepreneurs:

Get practical experience & advice from an experienced entrepreneur;
Make international contacts;
Get knowledge about other markets;
Discover potential providers, clients and co-venture opportunities.

Host entrepreneurs:

Get access to new skills and innovative knowledge;
Collaborate with a fresh mind that can provide new ideas;
Gain knowledge and intelligence about other markets;
Get an opportunity to start a new business partnership with an entrepreneur from another country.

HOW DOES THE PROGRAMME WORK?

The new entrepreneur travels to the country of the host, with the fi nancial support from the EU. There, they spend between 1 and 6 months cooperating and helping each other develop their businesses. Throughout their participation in the programme, both entrepreneurs are supported by local contact points of the programme in their respective countries.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT:

New entrepreneurs receive a subsidy for travel and subsistence costs during the visit. Financial support is calculated monthly and reflects the overall cost of living of the host country.
